KGBT 4 news latest article on Sylvia Handy as reported by Victor Castillo
.........Handy adds that she's not surprised by the allegations. She tells Action 4 News this happens to just about every incumbent when running for office.
Hmmm… something to think about... I guess this is why there is a blog for "TEAM MEMBERS" (people like you and me can not post any comments) written by Sylvia Handy Supporters who make it a practice to bash other political figures from the Valley & who casually make crude remarks and boast opinions without regards to opponents - as I always say "Valley Politics sure does get ugly"
Let me guess Sylvia Handy did not tell her supporters what to say either, oh yea... and the candle rituals had nothing to do with her either, and now her employees are making up lies...
C'mon Sylvia Handy step up to the plate and tell it like it is - your a non-college degreed person who demands over $90,000.00 a year to do a job that we the tax payer pay for -
Shoot, If I had your job I would not want to hand it over either I too would say the news stations and newspapers were reporting rumors - after all we know there are few companies out there who would pay over $90,000.00 a year to a non-degreed person.

Tina Casares awarded Scholarship Award from Mexican American Women's National Association
In 1984 Tina Casares was well on her way to achieving her educational goals. The Northwest Chapter of MANA, Mexican American Women's National Association recognized her outstanding achievements in fulfilling her educational goals and proudly awarded her a Scholarship Award.
What does MANA do? According to their website MANA empowers Latinas through leadership development, community service, and advocacy. I'm not sure how many other valley political candidates have been recognized by MANA, but I do know that MANA is extremely selective to whom they elect for scholarship awards.
Not only is it the duty of each candidate to do their job, it is also important to inform the public of the importance of education. This holds especially true for the Latinos here in America who many are faced with financial hardships. Let's push education for our children, let us continue to allow individuals such as Tina Casares to share their knowledge, skills, and work ethics learned by years of education to help our community.

FBI raid on County Commissioner Sylvia Handy’s office
Here we are in 2008 and yet our public offices remain corrupt - I wonder what the outcome of the FBI investigation was?? -
Anyone who follows politics will say the FBI does not show up at your door just to say hello.

Tina (Englantina) Casares for Hidalgo County Commissioner Pct. 1
Checking out the candidates for Hidalgo County Commissioner PCT 1 - Not a tuff choice -
I'm voting for Tina Casares! Holding a Masters of Education from UT-Pan Am - and one heck of a successful business owner - my vote is for her!
Since we the Tax payer will be paying the County Commissioner's paycheck - and boy do we know it is high - why is our tax payers money going to someone who does not have a college degree - yet this person (we all know who this is) DEMANDED a 20% pay increase...????? I believe if we place candidates in office we should at least check out thier education - Would you Vote for a President who only held a business school certificate???? or for that matter a two year degree??? I think not - and I will tell you why. Education is important and people who hold office should at least have their BA - If Politicians expect to be paid executive level incomes than by gosh they better have the credentials to warrant their paycheck.

RIO GRAND VALLEY POLITICS GETS UGLY
As I sit here creating this blog - I took a look at other blogs refrencing Valley Politics...
Why is it that Valley Politics always gets UGLY???
It would be nice if we just could VOTE for who we wanted to vote for - why do politicians always need to BASH their opponents??
I will tell you who I'm voting for - I'm voting for the candidate with the most education.
Times are tuff out there - long gone are backyard politics - we need a candidate who earned the education not just a business school certificate of accomplishment or a two year degree we need the whole enchilada - and I'll tell you why - SIMPLE!!! LIFE IS TUFF! we need someone who is going to get the ball moving -
Hooray for those who attempted school - School may not be for everyone, but Congratulations need to go out to those who really worked hard to get their education and who have worked hard to start their own business and who most importantly is brave enough to step in the World of dirty Valley Politics!
